If you're looking for excellent surfing instructions - hit up Jeff! I had never been surfing and I could have asked for a better experience. Not only is Jeff so knowledgeable about the sport but he also gave tips and tricks for ocean and beach safety! He is patient, positive and very passionate about surfing which makes you feel comfortable and accomplished when you get up on the board. Thank you, Jeff!!

Huge recommendation for Jeff!!!

I wanted my kids to learn how to surf and started searching all the local surf schools in the Newport area. They were booked solid with 6-8 kids per teacher, which didn't sound ideal anyway. Devine Providence must have led me to Jeff's website because his private surf lessons sounded exactly what I was looking for. He was super easy to book (no pressure sale) and was accommodating to our schedule. I booked him for 4 days and he instructed 2 people each day. He starts with safety and an ocean education. Within 30 min we were in the water and working on the basics of standing up and weight distribution. The kids learned the fundamentals very quickly and were all standing by their 2nd or 3rd wave. Definitely the highlight of our vacation and we are looking forward to booking Jeff in the future to help elevate the kids skills.

Jeff did a great job of explaining the basics and safety, not cutting corners to save time but to actually ensure safety was observed during the lesson. Positive attitude, very chill and not pushy or rude. I had a fantastic time for my first surfing experience and I plan to do much more again soon! Thank you Jeff!!!

Jeff was great, really knew how to instruct beginners, and made sure my daughter had a great first time surfing. Everything was explained super well and she felt really safe. Jeff really knows the water and the area so the whole experience was great!

Our time with Jeff learning to surf was perfect! We arrived a half-hour early, and Jeff was already at the meeting spot setting up. He provided us with valuable information on swim safety, and what to look for before jumping into the ocean. He is very knowledgeable on everything surf, and also for any local tips/recommendations. Jeff was a great instructor for both me and my daughter. She was very nervous about swimming in the Pacific for the first time. And by the end, she was hooked and didn’t want to stop surfing. Jeff is very knowledgeable about weather conditions, waves and how to get newbies like us in the ocean, surfing and having fun. He’s a real student of surfing. And you will want to be too after a lesson with him.

By far, this experience with Jeff has been the best surfing lesson that I have ever had; and I have been to many. Other surfing companies or instructors will charge a ridiculous amount and will have large groups of people. Jeff gives a 1 to 1 learning opportunity which is the only best method to learn how to surf. In addition, he made me feel confident and inspired to continue this sport, most importantly safe. He was so nice and answered every question I had. I use to hate surfing because I could never get up. But Jeff has taught me a different technique that many surf instructors will not. Now I love surfing, thanks to Jeff. I can now walk on water.

Jeff gave a lesson to my boyfriend and me and we had the best time. He was patient and knowledgeable, and I was so excited that I was able to stand up on the board a few times. Definitely recommend taking lessons with him - it was a great experience for all ages and experience levels.

As a beginner, Jeff really took his time to give me a holistic approach to surfing. From the safety precautions to reading of the waves and current and how it all applies to a good surfing experience. You get your bang for the buck, no rush. Will definitely stick with his class till I can head out there alone.
